Origins of the 029 Cardiff Area Code

Before the 16th April 1995 known as PhONEday which changed telephone area codes by inserting a 1 at the beginning. The area code was 0222.

The area code for Cardiff (01222) changed to become 029 after the Big Number Change on the 22nd April 2000.
